Diversity and Beauty of Nature. The Puerto Princesa Underground River was made a National Park in 1971 and recognised as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1999. It has also been officially selected as one of the 7 wonders of Nature in 2012. The cave has been open to the public since 1986, and attracts over 300,000 visitors every year.
