Svetitschophevili Cathedral is one of Georgia's greatest historical and religious monuments, built in the eleventh century. The robe of Christ (peace be upon him) is believed to be buried here, making it a sacred destination for many visitors, and a visit to the cathedral gives visitors the opportunity to explore the history of Christianity in Georgia and contemplate the deep spiritual atmosphere. Svetets Khoveli is Georgia's main Orthodox Christian cathedral, located 20 kilometers northwest of the capital Tbilisi. This church was built between 1010 and 1029, and here the kings of Georgia are buried. Following Georgian tradition, this church is one of the most prominent destinations for believers in the country. It was among the most important pilgrim sites on the Silk Road. These walls also retain ancient and important traditions to this day. Svetets Khoveli is not just a church, but a religious site, a sacred sanctuary and the cemetery of kings. It is a place that somehow sums up the entire history of Georgia, with its battles, construction, ruins and reconstruction.
