13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
One World Trade Center
Visiting the 911 Memorial was a profoundly touching experience. I was inspired to take this photo of the new World Trade Center rising among the clouds. I feel that it reflects both the hope and the fear we live with, as Americans and as human beings.
