Chetumal Bay is the manatee Sanctuary natural protected area in southern Mexico. Yucatan penninsule has huge expanses of mangroves.The tannins that come out of the mangove stain the transparent waters of the Bay.The calcium carbonate sands give the Bay sediments the white color.
