14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Otherworldly
The canyons of southern Utah can easily be described as otherworldly or Mars-like. During sunrise recently, this scene of the moon over a partially illuminated canyon face gives me the feeling of viewing Earth from an asteroid.
