Even though the eyes of flamingos are bigger than their brains, this does not make them animals lacking in consciousness. They have excellent sight, and despite a limited ability to interpret what they see, the way in which they form groups enables them to develop a collective consciousness in order to cope with their environment. Climate change is increasingly affecting their habitats.
