Over the Shoulder
I set a camera trap up on a winter killed bull elk for the fall season, most of the meat from the carrion long gone off the carcass. As hyperphagia came into full swing, some black bears returned to the kill to scavenge what was left. This powerful giant black bear was able to crack some bones open and get a few much needed calories before heading to den for the winter. I was quite pleased with this unusual composition.
