Rain, wind and losing one's hat did not make one gondolier's day. As my wife and I were walking in Venice, I notice this gondolier hat in the water. I kneeled down on the wet sidewalk and took the shot. As I stood up, I noticed the hat's owner, the gondolier, looking very frustrated and I could tell he did not want to be photographed. Respecting him and what I thought were his wishes, I kept moving along.
