Owl alarmed by dog

This owl spent the afternoon in my backyard. I first learned it was there when I heard the screeches of ravens harrassing it. I set up for photos some 30 feet away, but didn't like what I was getting, so I moved about 12 feet away. When my small dog left the tangle of my legs and my tripod, the owl became alert, but did not leave the tree until much later when a neighbor let herself and her dog into my back gate.
