Paige's Battery represents the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863. This Confederate cannon battery repelled Union soldiers advancing across western Seminary Ridge onto the area of Oak Hill eventually pushing the Union forces into the town of Gettysburg on that first day.
