PAINTED SPURFOWL – PHOTOBOMBED BY A SLOTH BEAR
The painted spurfowl (male in picture) is a spectacular looking bird, and so aptly named. SLOTH BEARS are the most commonly found bears in the Indian sub-continent. They are the inspiration for Kipling’s ‘Baloo’ in his Jungle Book, though the depiction was not too accurate! Sloth bears are endemic to this part of the world viz. they are not found anywhere else.
