Pair of Ruddy Shelducks on the Gokgyocheon River

The Gokgyocheon River in South Korea is one of many waterways that become a wintering home for thousands of migrating waterfowl from Siberia. The Ruddy Shelduck is one of the more colorful and vocal species wintering there. This photo shows a mated pair, the male having a visible black ring around the base of his neck and being slightly larger than the female.
