Partial Lunar Eclipse Beaver Moon
I was happy that the moon awakened me shining through the bedroom window. I hurried outside and hand held my Nikon Coolpix P1000 camera as steady as I could, which was a bit of challenge because it was cold outside too which made the camera's battery also slow in responding! I picked this shot as my favorite out of the series that I captured at 3:21 AM. I google searched why it is called the Beaver Moon and here is what I learned. "The Beaver Moon gets its name from beaver hunting season, which used to peak this time of year. Plus, beavers start retiring to their lodges for the winter around now, too."
