15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Passing Through
Emulated Landscape Reality From the series Anywhere, Nowhere, a fine art photography project that recalls the interval between my personal experience of nature and memory. Images challenge the mimetic nature of photography. Scenes are constructed in my studio using found objects chosen for their texture, color, shape, and form. Compositions reference traditional landscape images, however, they are not referents to a particular location but to recalled emotions and memories to places which have personal significance; for example beaches, mountains, forests, and deserts.
