Gray heron Patiently fishing in a small pond in Northern Scotland. Standing completely still in the water it is able to lure fish towards it by habituating them to its presence before striking. I witnessed only a single unsuccessful strike in the 10 minutes I watched this individual but it did not seem deterred.
