I had gone on a business trip to San Diego. It had been a busy and stressful day, stuck indoors knowing it was beautiful out. When my shift was over I ran outside, crossing the Pacific Railroad and carefully climbing down to the beach. The sand in my toes, the sea breeze in my hair, nothing smelled more like freedom. The rock was beautiful to me: stubborn and calmly making the sand and waves form to its location.
