Peering Across the Santorini Caldera

Santorini is among the most beautiful Greek isles, with its white-washed buildings and sapphire domes. In the second millennium BCE, the Thera volcano erupted violently, leaving a caldera, of which modern day Santorini is a part. This view across the upper cliff displays the man-made beauty of Santorini complemented by the natural beauty of the opposing aspect of the caldera in the background.
