Pieces

To put this into perspective, in order to touch the base of the glacier from where I stood was a 15 minute walk and further up onto I averaged would be an hour. As the pieces of glacier broke from the base, a jolting cracking could be heard echoing for miles. The glacier has diminished in size drastically through years of global warming. Standing in awe and sometimes jumping due to the abrupt crack, I saw each piece from the distance fall and knew I may be one of the few who'd get to stand at the base of this glacier.
