Eid Miladunnabi has been celebrated in Chattogram like through colourful arrangements. Lakhs of people flocked to the procession in the city on Sunday. The grand procession was the 50th edition organized by Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadiyya Sunnia Trust. Huge Muslims from Chattogram and other parts of the country participated in it. Since 1974, this procession has been going out in the city on Eid Miladunnabi. Allama Syed Muha­mmad Taher Shah led the procession kown as ‘Julus’, which started from Alamgir Khanqah-e-Qaderia Syedia Taibiya, adjacent to Bibirhat Jamia Ahmadiyya Sunnia Alia Madrasah in the city. Chattogram city Muslims from different upazilas and surrounding districts gathered at Jamia Ahmadiyya Sunnia Alia Madrasah premises in Sholashar. The procession passed through Muradpur, Panchlaish, Katalganj, Chawkbazar, Sirajuddaula Road, Andarkilla, Jamalkhan, Kazir Dewri, Wasa and Sholshahar and reached the madrasa grounds at Bibirhat. Meanwhile, lakhs of people thronged the various roads. At the end of the procession, the Muslims offered Zohar prayer there. Organizers claim that more than 50 lakh people have gathered at this year's 50th Jules. On the occasion of Miladunnabi, a festive atmosphere was created throughout the city of Chattogram centred around the traditional procession of the port city. The road dividers are colourfully decorated with flags, banners, posters, festoons, arches in different spots of the city. Banner-festoons were held by the participants in the procession. The procession was full of praise, praise and blessings. Sherbet, chocolate, dates, jilapi, juice are distributed along the way.
