Persist

“Persist,” part of the Wind’s Eye series, explores how vulnerability and self-protection coexist within relationships and identity. Jin’s photographs follow the quiet transformation that occurs when a subject moves beyond self-consciousness and enters a state of genuine presence. As protective walls dissolve, hesitation softens into ease, revealing the tender moment when someone allows themselves simply to be. This act of openness reframes photography not as the pursuit of a perfect image, but as a process of building trust and shared experience. In this exchange, Wind’s Eye reflects on how presence can emerge through the gaze, where the camera becomes less a tool of observation and more a participant in the act of seeing and being seen. Moving fluidly between abstract still life and portraiture, Jin’s imagery expresses emotion through light, gesture, and form. In Wind’s Eye, the body and its surroundings intertwine in a quiet choreography of presence and absence, revealing how tenderness and distance can coexist within a single frame.
