Pest Control

I live alone in a cabin in Francis Marion National Forest where I conduct research on venomous snakes. My cabin is constantly crawling with rats, mice, ants, roaches and more. It's impossible to eradicate them all!! Fortunately I have small predators, like this southeastern five-lined skink, for pest control. From time to time I see lizards and even snakes in odd places throughout the cabin. I happened to observe this lizard take down this roach on the screen to my porch. It took the lizard approximately five minutes to kill and eat the roach.
