19th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience

Petroglyphs, carved on stone, can be used to record the history of a group of people. This petroglyph records the migration of a grope to a new land. It records the death of a leader and other events. This petroglyph was more distinct than others of the large group at this location. So, I photographed it.
