This was taken in June 2017, whilst travelling with my partner in Sri Lanka. Public trains here are key to journeying around. The Trains are really appreciated and taken full advantage of by the locals. We always used 3rd class and conversations were had on every journey. Kind Locals would share their stories and their food and we would ours. Lots of the people we talked to were very poor but exceptionally happy. It was very humbling experience. This image Is a typical sight on a Sri Lankan platform. I had a conversation across the tracks with this phlegmatic young boy whilst we sat motionless at a station in rural Sri Lanka. He was very reserved but curious.
