Pig butchering the 1860s way at a historical farm.

This is a photo of a pig butchering activity held at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm in Kansas. They were doing everything as the Mahaffie family would have done in the 1860s. You can see the steam billowing up from the boiling water they were using. The whole thing was done in an open barn on a chilly February day.
