Pine looper
Macro shot ( 1.6x magnification ) of a pine looper caterpillar hanging onto a leaf by strands of silk. “Caterpillars make their cocoons from strands of silk that they produce from glands near their mouths. This Caterpillar is black with a pattern of fine parallel pale yellow lines, a thin orange dorsal stripe,and a yellow band along each side. Its head capsule and anal segment are blue-green speckled with black.”
