Pioneers

A hardy pioneer plant grows in a field of volcanic rock on the island of La Palma. Project “Pioneers”: A pioneer species is one that is first to colonise a barren environment; breaking down rock and producing soil. They brave the oven-fresh barren landscapes and season them into vibrant ecosystems; If it weren’t for them, we would not be here.
