Playing cricket on a different pitch.

I was visiting a santhal village in Purulia, West Bengal in India during Bandhna festival. Bandhna is mostly about the make-over of the homes other than different rituals practiced along with it. It is also known as ‘Saharay’ within the Santhal fraternity. The outer walls of the dwelling hut is painted with brilliant colour tones made out of natural dyes and the floor is decorated with intricate pattern designs in white. It is a freehand line drawing with the fingers and and done by the female members of the family.
