Food amongst siblings can be a matter of life and death for brown bear cubs. If there's a lack of food, the mother will sometimes kick out the weakest cub. We watched this cub and its two siblings fight for every salmon its mother caught. The cub in the picture was the most dominant and would almost always run away with salmon from its siblings. As its mother caught another fish, I made sure I was lying on the ground and was in position for the cub to run away with the fish. Just as anticipated, it snatched the fish bursted away from its siblings. I fired off a bunch of shots and was happy with the outcome.
