15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Polar Bear
This was the closest polar bear encounter I've had, and the beautiful water provided a nice backdrop. Unfortunately, this polar bear was skinny and represents the sad reality that global warming is affecting their habitat with the melting ice.
