16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Polar Bear Mom and Cubs
Freshly emerged from the den after three to four months without foods, the female polar bear and her three to four months old cubs were in hurry to get on the sea-ice so she could hunt the seals. The journey was about forty miles with full of danger from wolfs.
