Polar Bear on Tundra

Taken from a helicopter over Churchill, Manitoba during the natural migration of polar bears from land back onto the freezing surface of Hudsons Bay. The bear looks so forlorn and helpless in the masssive and unfriendly tundra environment but the bear is designed for this type of life. In fact he's simply conserving energy and having a nap while waiting for the ice to solidify on Hudsons Bay so he can go back to hunting and eating seal.
