Pollen Pants

This photo is showing bees collecting pollen in mid-spring, deep within the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. These bees are part of a research colony, which was being tested to determine if pre and pro-biotics can mitigate the negative effects of Nosema—a microsporidian fungi that infects the honeybee midgut. In Saskatchewan, honey is big business, with donation research colonies coming from all over the province to help facilitate this research.
