Ka’ena Point is the edge of the mortal world the jumping off point for spirits in Hawaiian tradition. I felt like the sun setting symbolizes the end of a chapter (in this case, the end of the day, but in the case of Ka’ena Point, the end of mortal life). I chose this composition with leading lines to symbolize moving towards the open ocean and sunset, or the end of life.
