15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
Portland Head Light, Portland, Maine
The Portland Head Light was commissioned by George Washington in 1771. I shot this on a Gitzo tripod with a Canon 5DRS. I used a Canon 16-35 mm lens. No filters. I spent 2 days waiting for the right clouds and light.
