This photo was taken at Wilde Lake in Columbia, Maryland. I had seen that there were green heron chicks, so I ventured to this lake for the first time. I came across one green heron chick that had not ventured far from the nest, unlike the 2 siblings that had also been spotted. As this baby waited for a parent to come back with food, I was able to shoot some photographs.
