On the day I took this photo, I posted on Twitter: "Took a picture of a dog today so even if everything else is a bust, I'm happy." The true magic of film is that I don't have any recollection of whether the rest of the day was or was not "a bust," but almost two months later to the day I had the scans of that roll of film in hand, including a perfectly wonderful picture of a stately pup. It brought me exactly as much joy as I'd hoped it would when I crouched down in the middle of the sidewalk to practice my portrait skills on a dog while trying not to spill my coffee.
