Portrait of an old woman

Katsyaryna Adamauna German (1949), at her house in v. Danilevichy village. Belarus has got the rapid process of urbanization. Currently, only 25% of people live in the countryside, and three-quarters of Belarus population are urban dwellers. If we talk about the dynamics, Belarus faced up a revolution over the past 60 years - in 1959 5.5 million people lived in the village, and the urban population was 2.5 million. At the moment the situation is directly opposite. In the modern Belarusian village, 6% of Belarusian villages have abounded. In 72% of settlements less than 100 people live. Large villages with a population of over 5 thousand people are rare for Belarus. There are only 10 of them, about 80 thousand people live in them. The project documents the interiors of traditional village houses, which, as the dynamics show, will soon disappear.
