This portrait of Konstantinos is an attempt to capture the essence of classical Greek beauty in contemporary Greece. Kostas is the son of Greek taverna owners with whom I have established a friendship over the past 15 years. When I first met him, Kostas was a child helping out his parents by waiting tables. As he grew to manhood, his classical good looks struck a chord. This image captures his transition from childhood to manhood and presents a Vermeer-like contemporary representation of ancient Greek male beauty.
