Portrait of Randall

This is Randall, an echidna I met at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Tasmania. A shy but charming guy, I found his fur to be soft, his eyes soulful and his bristles like the stem part of feathers. Randall is the first echidna I’ve ever met. His story is sad. He was attacked by a dog and that’s what brought him to the rehadilitation center. The veterinarian was able to save his life but he lost a leg and, thus, is unable to burrow, necessary to survive in the wild. So Randall will live his life in the sanctuary, helping to educate people like me
