Poulnabrone portal tomb in Ireland
The Poulnabrone dolmen is a portal tomb in the Burren, a karst landscape in County Clare in western Ireland. The Neolithic rock structure dates from approximately 5000-6000 years ago, making it 1000 years older than Stonehenge. A massive 1.5 tonne capstone sits atop upright portal stones, to form the entrance to the burial chamber.
