Easily, New Orleans is one of the most "foreign" cities in the entire United States, which is paradoxically something that makes it inherently American. During these uncertain times, I hope that we continue to appreciate the significance and beauty that diversity contributes to our society. Be it ethnic, religious, linguistic, racial, or any other parameter, these differences are important--actually crucial--to the fabric of American success.
