For snowy owls the highest perch is a status symbol to be fought for & defended. I couldn't believe my eyes, but this took place every night 1-2 hours before the sun went down like clockwork with surprising predictability. I was privileged enough to be aware of this location where they roosted all day where no humans could bother them.
