Rash Mela(Fair) is one of the biggest festivals in Bangladesh, especially for the Hindu Caste People, to pay honor and homage to Lord Krishna. It is held on the days of Rash Purnima (Full Moon). The Fair takes place in different places in the country likewise in Dublar Char, an island in the Bay of Bengal and part of the biggest mangrove forest in the world called Sundarbans. Rash Mela is a 200-year-old festival that started taking place in Dublar Char in 1923. Many people gather at Dublar Char which is usually populated by seasonal fishermen who catch fish from the sea, process it, make it dried, and supply it throughout the country. On the Rash Mela, as part of prayer and custom the people spend the whole moonlit night in the fair, and the very morning before sunrise, they start their prayer and take a holy bath in the sea.
