Prayers of the Heavenly Lake
Namtso Lake - the heavenly lake, is one of the largest salt lakes in China. Lies at an elevation of 4,718 m (15,479 ft), mortality is a constant. Local Tibetans are deeply religious and spiritual. A people that is connected with the land. This photo shows a local sheep herder praying for the blessings of the land and lake, beside an alter made from the skull of a yak. In the foreground is the traditional Tibetan prayer flags.
