Squirrels in Iran belong to different species and are found in various regions of the country. The most common species is the Iranian ground squirrel (Sciurus anomalus), which lives mainly in the northern and central forests of Iran. These squirrels typically inhabit forest trees such as oak and pine and feed on seeds, fruits, and sometimes insects. Due to their social behaviors and excellent abilities in jumping and moving through trees, squirrels are considered fascinating animals in Iran's nature."
