14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Predator
Aviemore, Scotland. I went to Scotland to photograph ospreys in early August before they migrate back to Africa. I had been waking up at 4am every day for 5 days walking to the pond where they fish and waiting patiently in a cold and humid hide for them to show up. The osprey dove caught his fish and took off using the incredible strength of his wings.
