The wheel used to contain electric wires and the island of Ivana on the background is a subtle reminder of the progress made in Batanes in the Northern Philippines and yet and the same time they have to keep identity as Ivatans intact. With progress, they must retain their culture, heritage and the island’s natural beauty. Batanes is showing all of us an example of progress without loosing roots.
