Elephants are incredibly family orientated. When faced with a threat like a bunch of silly photographers in a land rover they form a defensive shield around their young. One large adult member of their group is always between us and their young. This family saw us and immediately converged around baby to protect her from harm. Was truly a wonderful sight to experience and gain insight into their communication and family bonds.
