Prudy and Daniel had been gracious hosts and friends to me throughout my visits, and I wanted to do something special for them for their anniversary. Their living room didn't have the best light from a photographic standpoint, so I had a speedlight reflecting onto the ceiling to create more dramatic, textured lighting on Daniel. We went through a range of expressions, but I found this stoic expression especially striking and natural for him.
