A rare species to be found: the psychedelic frogfish is endemic to Ambon and disappears for extended periods of time. Egg-bearing females emerge from dark holes, wrapping their dorsal and tail fin around a clutch of some 200 eggs, looking for a safe spot to place the priceless sacks of life.
